The stand-out modules, which, although challenging, such as Biosciences, English for Healthcare Professionals, Cross-Boundary Studies, and Thinking Skills, have persistently challenged and broadened my interest in the medical field; that is what FIS has made me more prepared for my undergraduate studies. Besides that, the FIS lecturers weren’t just teachers; they were all passionate mentors.

For me, the blend of assignments, projects and tests emphasizes not just on academic prowess but leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills all of which are imperative in any working environment. Throughout the semesters, I was able to weave networks of friends that serve as supportive pillars for one another when in need, spanning even beyond my cohort.

My reason for choosing to do a pre-university course in IMU is mainly because of the scholarship I acquired from Yayasan Khazanah. Out of the 2 universities on offer, I selected IMU because it is a more established medical university and has a longer track-record of excellence in Malaysia. In fact, IMU is Malaysia’s most established private healthcare university. Based on the opinions that I gathered from both my parents and professionals I met during school programmes, the teaching staff in IMU is some of the best in the field. To quote one of the seniors, “if they’re in IMU, then you’ll probably come across their names in some of the big journals.

IMU is one of the universities that genuinely cares for the well-being of their students and I can assure you that they will try their best to make you feel comfortable. The environment in IMU is amazing, with its mentor-mentee system, the kindest lecturers and some of the friendliest students you will ever meet.

The resources and services at IMU makes your everyday life extremely convenient. The wide range of choices for food at the cafeteria, the library, the E-labs and the convenient store located at IMU have made the lives of students very easy going. There are many options for accommodation within walking distance to IMU. Above all that the environment here is very safe.
