About The Programme

The Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes Management and Education (PGDME) is an ODL programme with an inclusive, innovative, and flexible curriculum designed to fit into the working adult lifestyle and impart competencies to grow a career for the future diabetes care workplace.

The PGDME programme is a comprehensive evidence-based programme designed to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage and educate individuals with diabetes.

Teaching and learning is delivered and supervised by highly qualified and experienced local and international specialists from the multidisciplinary areas of diabetes care, and extends beyond the provision of education to include theory, research, and the educator role into professional practice to generate individualised selfmanagement solutions for people with diabetes.

Our innovative curriculum covers a comprehensive array of topics in diabetes management and education, including the management of diabetes and macrovascular/ microvascular complications, care of special groups, teaching and learning in diabetes care, research, and diabetes self-management education in psychosocial context.

Who is Eligible to Study?

Registered Nurse / Assistant Medical Officer / Dietitian / Pharmacist / Physiotherapist / Clinical Psychologist / Podiatrist / Medical Practitioner with a Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline and a minimum CGPA of 2.50
